Many people are recognizing the benefits of implementing a more plant-based diet, so it's a good thing that there are so many alternatives to diary products nowadays. Pushback from the dairy industry is causing some controversy over using the term milk, but the plant-based 'milk' movement isn't stopping anytime soon.
What are the potential benefits of plant-based milk alternatives?
🌱 Soy Milk may not provide as easily absorbed calcium as cow milk, but it is richer in vitamin B and folic acid.
🌱 Almond milk has less protein than cow milk, which can be good for adults, and it provides a healthy dose of vitamin D and E.
🌱 Hemp milk is rich in protein, omega-3, and omega-6 fatty acids. It is also packed full with minerals and appears to be one of the best alternatives to milk nutritionally.
Many cultures around the world do not drink cow's milk. There is big industry around it in the United States, but if you do not tolerate it well, it's quite easy to make the switch to something plant-based 😋
